seriously, we have lights and power....WOOHOO!!! I knew today was Monday, when we woke up to yet more electricity problems in our house. This morning we had no lights in our kitchen, Marks living room, the pantry and 7 more outlets without power. Basically two rooms of our house without electricity. So this morning started out in stress mode. I told Mark someone had to get this fixed ASAP because I was to the point I was scared to leave the house thinking we might end up with an electrical fire, after all you don't just start losing power in several rooms of your home for no reason. Not to mention it is quite scary to sleep in a home when you have to worry something terrible could happen.
Not that anything bad would happen...but really we just didn't know, and not knowing was making me very anxious. Anyway, today when we got home from work Marks cousin stopped by and after some digging they found the problem. Everything in the house looked good, so they had to get under the house to get to the main cross over box. Ah hah, problem found! Apparently somehow water (maybe a small plumbing leak...oh joy) let water get to the wires that are under the house and the main plugs had burnt out. This is what they looked like...
I am so thankful that nothing happened to our house, and that we have been safe even though this could have been a BIG problem. Luckily the breaker box was doing it's job and cutting off the power so nothing bad could happen. Steve fixed everything for us and I am so grateful!!!! Now I can sleep and feel good when I leave the house in the morning. Not to mention I haven't been able to cook in my kitchen for almost a week. Oh and that ugly drop cord running across my living room floor is gone! The only downside is now I have to move everything back into it's proper place.
So for the first night in a week I feel like I will go to bed ALMOST stress free. We have some issues going on with our car insurance which is making me quiet ill, but I am going to wait until I have more concrete answers before I get into that situation. It's always something...right?
My thinking for the day: Life is like chewing gum...it's really yummy and then it gets yucky and next thing you know it has your shoe stuck to the pavement. Sometimes it is sticky...we just have to clean it off and keep on trucking :)
Have a good week everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!
