Mark and I are on vacation today and tomorrow basically because we needed to get a few things done. Number one on the list was to replace the roof on our screened in porch...fun stuff I know.
Anyway, you have to know my husband...he hates projects. I on the other hand love them :) We went to Home Depot to get the supplies and he was already aggravated before we ever left the store (great). For some reason he thought it wouldn't take but two or three hours and boy was he wrong. It took about 8 1/2 hours and by the time he came inside he just went straight to bed. Here are some photos of the process.

So after this they had to put the paper down and get the shingles on so it was quiet a long process, but finally it is done :) Hopefully this one won't leak but we will have to wait on some rain drops to know for sure!
Other than that, I got the bright idea to take all the curtains down and wash them...whew what a job! I spent my whole day at the washer and dryer cleaning curtains table linens and sheets. At least it is done and all my curtains are so clean :)
Well that's it for now, I am getting ready to head to the woods to try to put some meat in the freezer!

I understand why your husband hates projects, particularly the roof project. We know that tearing off the old roof and installing a new one is not a piece of cake. It’s a job that requires great attention, effort, hard work and patience. Well, good thing he had someone to help him with this project.

Even if it’s against your husband’s will to repair the roof, he still did it and it was good for him that there’s someone to help him. Anyway, I think you should have just hired roofers to do everything for you. I hope they were able to install the roofs properly.

It’s great that it wasn’t that hard to convince your husband to work on the new roof. I remember when my sister decided to have their new house renovated, it took about a month or two in convincing her husband to do it. After the renovations that took about a year to finish, her husband told her that all their efforts were worth it since my sister has designed the house so splendidly. I hope I could post the photos of their house, some might admire it too. :)
