Could have, Should have, Would have...

Let me start off by saying that I am NOT a fan of mass e-mails. You know what I am talking about, the kind that says pass a long if your my friend...blah blah blah How about if you were my friend you wouldn't waste my time on stupid stuff like this! (LOL) However, last Friday my Mom sent me an e-mail with the title of my post. I opened it up and seen it had been forwarded a million times and my eyes just rolled. Since it was from my Mom and she usually don't send me random stuff like that I decided to scroll on down, and there I found a story read it, and it really made me think.

After I read the little story I knew my Mom probably thought of me as soon as she read it. Basically the story was about how we go through every day worrying about doing all these things that don't matter, and how we put aside things we enjoy to do because we feel like things have to be perfect. Then one day we wake up and realize we spent all this time on stupid stuff and missed out on fun times or family times.

Wake up call to me!!!! I am the first person to put off something fun that I really want to do because the house needs to be cleaner or I hate to spend the money because I worry that something will break as soon as I do. I can't think how many times something fun has been going on and I decide not to go because I feel the need to do chores and then I feel awful the next day because I really wanted to do it.

So here are the excuses...

- I would have come out to see you guys, but I needed to get up early to get my grocery shopping done...

- I could have went to dinner with everyone, but at the rate things are breaking this year I just hate to waste money going out to dinner...

- I should have went to the mall with my sister, I feel like I don't spend enough time with her, but the weekends are so short and there are so many things that have to get done...

and they could go on forever and ever, it's always something that needs to be done.

So I have come to the conclusion that my slight OCD over having a clean house or doing something a certain way is ludicris. Will that stop me? Probably not! I do think that it will make me think a little harder when someone I love extends an invite even though I have things to do. Maybe I will run out to the mall on Saturday to window shop, or maybe I will waste a little time sitting in Marks living room watching TV shows I don't care about just to show him I love being around him... There are so many things I pass up doing because I have stuff to do (chores) and I never even noticed until I read that e-mail.

Thanks Mom for that mass e-mail, I think it is the only one I will ever read and not throw in my deleted folder!!!

Well that's it, I want to give everyone a weekend recap but not tonight. With Marks softball game and me trying to get back on my running schedule there is little time left in the day, and if your wondering those are the things that I should be and did do :)

Hello Friday...I LOVE you!

Thank goodness for the weekend...oh how I have missed you!

Why is it that we plan to get all these things accomplished yet majority of the time we never get them completed? My excuse most days is being exhausted from work. I came home today and surveyed the pool situation. The pool has went from icky green to a cloudy teal color. I will call it an improvement :) Wonder what it will look like tomorrow?

I decided I would come home today and work on the pool and begin cleaning my house. We have a busy weekend planned and I wanted to get my cleaning done and go to sleep tonight with a clean house. Oh wait...it's 11:00 and all I manged to do was work on the pool and put laundry away. I somehow managed to get side tracked by the Real Housewives of New Work and Orange County on the DVR. How did I ever get so attached to these crazy shows.

Speaking of...these women on these shows drive me insane! Seriously they are complete idiots. Poor women with all this money, big houses, helpers and all they do is bicker with one another. I guess when you have all this money and time to go out to dinner and lunch with your friends 24-7 drama is bound to follow. Most of the time I just want to jump through the TV and punch them in the face. I wonder how they would survive a day in my life?

Anyway, not much has been done here. Maybe after I get done with this I will get my second wind and go into manic cleaning mode.

So I just wanted to say Happy Friday everyone :) Enjoy the long weekend. Can't wait to spend time with my friends, family and most of all my sweetie.

A case of the Blahs...

I have had a hard time keeping up with my blogging lately...boo! Doesn't it just seem like life is too busy sometimes?

So lets start with last weekend. On Saturday my Mom talked my sister and me into going to the NC Ag Fest at the fair grounds. It was pretty fun, we walked around looked at all the vendors, went to the wine tasting and local food tasting. It was a fun time, and I just enjoyed the time with my Mom and sister. It seems like with all our different schedules it's hard for us to do things together :)

Jayme and me...LOL why do I have to be the Piggy?

Later that evening Mark and I had plans to go eat at our friend Caiti's house with some other friends. Us girls sat around chatting while the boys were outside playing corn hole and cooking. Then we cut into my chocolate cake with my first ever home made frosting...I must say it was pretty yummy! The boys made the night interesting with a little mishap, but all in all we had a great night.

Well that was our weekend, we relaxed and spent time with friends. After all that is what the weekends are for :)

So this week Mark and I have been trying to get our pool filled with water. It turned out to take a lot longer than I expected. Finally today it reached the full mark, but there is still work to be done. We waited late to open our pool this year because we usually end up running for a month before we ever get in it. Of course this year it's hot as all get out (90's) early and our pool is no where near ready. I put some chemicals in today, but I am sure it will take a week or two to get it swim ready. Now I wish we would have started sooner :(

Yesterday I started jogging again...womp womp I have been slack on the gym...only 2 days this week so I figured it was the perfect time to start running again. It has been hard the past two days, but I managed 2 miles yesterday and 3 today with my Mom. With Mark playing softball and going to the games it makes it hard to find the time to run because I feel like I am always behind on things that need to be done.

Speaking of softball... The boys played an AWESOME game Tuesday night! They won and Mark hit one out of the park (go baby). I was so excited for all the guys on the team, they fought hard and made a huge comeback. I will start playing on a co ed team here in the next month and I am super excited to play. I think we are going to have our first practice next week. I need to do some extra running and weights to be in good shape for the games. So it looks like for Mark and I the next 3 months are going to be late nights at games. Once the season he is playing now is over, my season will start and then after my season they start their next season...whew it's going to be a lot of running around.

Tomorrow is Friday and a LONG weekend! We have a few things planned with friends so I hope it will turn out to be a good one. Everyone enjoy :)

A busy life...

So it's Tuesday and we are back to the normal grind. Graduations our beach trip and a wedding has come and gone, but now I have a few minutes to share everything.

Wednesday night one of my friends had her pinning from nursing school. Congratulations Jamie...for the past two years this girl has worked her butt off and this day was a special one to share with her.

Katie, Colby, Me, Jamie and Megan Celebrating :)

After Jamie's pinning, Mark and I were burning the road up to the beach. Topsail Island here we come and it was a much needed vacation. We finally got down about 11:30 and us girls stayed up until 2:30 chatting about this and that. The next morning we woke up and the weather was pretty cloudy so we decided to go out for breakfast. After breakfast we went out for a walk and spent the rest of the day hanging out and playing with this little cutie pie :)

Pretty little Kayleigh...Love her to pieces!

The boys had went out fishing, and soon arrived with their catch of the day....

Mark and Russ working hard!

The boys had a fun time fishing and later we had dinner and all hung out and had a nice evening. On Friday, Mark and I woke up and went and had breakfast together and with some luck the sun began to shine, so off to the beach we went (yay). It's too cold to get in the water, but I collected a box full of stones, and we played corn hole on the beach. Anyone who knows Topsail Island knows it is not a busy beach...we were the only people out there which made it seem like our own little party. On a funny note...some Seagulls flew over head and dropped some presents on Me, Mark, Amanda and Russ (yuck)! I got it real good, all in my hair on my arm and leg...what are the chances? Only me :(

Hanging out
Mark and Russ walking down the beach (how sweet)
Jackie, Amanda and Me :)

Saturday we were on our way back home. I hated to see our beach trip end. We had such a blast with everyone!!! As soon as we got home we had to get ready for Amy (Mark's cousin) and Jason's wedding. We are so happy for them, the wedding was beautiful. I hope they are enjoying their honeymoon ;)

Perfect
So our last day of freedom, and you know something had to happen to try to ruin it... Sunday morning our AC broke and I wanted to pull my hair out! If you read my blog often you know we have had a really hard year and it seems that everything keeps breaking and at a frequent pace :( Luckily Marks Dad stayed at our house Monday to wait for the people to come and fix it...we had several problems. Our main trunk vent had fell due to water weighing it down from a backed up drain line and our compressor motor had gone bad. Yes, I know it's just wonderful. Well, yet another hefty home repair bill, but at least it is fixed and you can tell the difference now that the main vent is fixed because this house is a million times cooler. I guess that's what happens when all your heat and air are running underneath your house. Geezzz

So that's all folks! Sorry for the lengthy post, but between all the daily stuff and Mark's softball games I don't get much down time.

Too much to do!!!!

So this weekend was so busy it left me running all over the place! First work has been so crazy, and the stress had me so overwhelmed, but a break is on the way...we shall get to that later. Friday Mark and I had plans to go to Raleigh to run some errands and have dinner after work. After we got back we rode to the shack to spend a little time with our friends before heading home.

Saturday was a crazy day. I got up to go grocery shopping and pick up a graduation gift. I came home got an hour of relaxation in the sun with my ipod, and then had to get ready to go take Winston's prom pictures. My not so little brother had his first prom Saturday and he looked so handsome. He is growing up so fast, and I hate it! Here are a few of his prom pictures....

As soon as I got home from taking pictures, I ran in changed clothes and was off to Mark's brothers house. It was BJ's 30th birthday! Happy Birthday!!! We had a lovely dinner and sat around with everyone chatting and mostly listening to Mark and BJ fuss over who their parents favor the most (lol).

Sunday...Happy Mothers Day to all the Momma's!!! Especially mine, because she is the greatest, and I love her more than anything in the world :) I was rushing to get the house clean, because having a migraine for 2 weeks really takes it's toll on the house, it was a total mess :( At 2:30 we went to Marks Grandma's to have some yummy food with all the family. Love them

Then back home to try to finish my cleaning and get ready for the work week.

Speaking of, it's a short one for us (thank goodness). This week is jam packed as well, but Mark and I decided we needed some relaxation so when my wonderful friend Amanda invited us to the beach for a few days of course we said...YES! So, tonight is packing and getting ready for the beach. Tomorrow Mark has a softball game, and then Wednesday after work I have to see another one of my great friends Jamie get her pin. She is graduating from nursing school (Yay), and then I am coming home scooping up the best husband ever and we are off to a few days of vacation. Then home Saturday morning to get ready for his cousin Amy and our friend Jason's wedding. Busy, busy...but I love it :)

Have a great week everyone!

Busy is a understatement!

So it's warm out and that means there are a million things to do and lot's of cook outs to attend. At least that's how we do it in the south :) I have been hiding for a bit, but I am back....for today!

It's Garden Time:
I love our garden, but my dear husband takes it to the extreme. We have a huge garden and now that it's planted I am dreading the work ahead of me. We pretty much plant everything from seeds with the exception of tomatoes and zucchini.

after one week, not much to do....yet!!!

Migraines...yuck:
Last week I was pretty much out of commission, due to another migraine. Oh my gosh they are awful!!!! 6 days of dealing with pain that never stops. Luckily my doctor called me in a prescription, and after 3 days of being loopy I am finally feeling a little better. After my episode last year I knew to catch it before it got to bad so no shots for me...thank goodness :) It was just a terrible week until it finally went away.

Which brings me to the weekend...
It was a bit of a blur due to my migraine medicine, but I managed to have a nice and busy weekend. Friday I was couch bound but Saturday it was time to see the friends. Saturday afternoon, we took a trip to Knightdale to celebrate Brent's 21st birthday. We had a yummy dinner, and banana pudding which is my all time FAVORITE!!!

sitting around chatting

Colby, Jamie and me

The birthday boy!!!

Then we were off to Caiti's to spend some time with some more friends. We sat around a fire talking and hanging out, and then it was home for some much needed rest!

Some other things...

I got my new camera and I am so excited. I have to read the book and try to figure out how to use it, but I am really happy with it thus far. It's nice to be able to start taking pictures and hopefully adding them to my blog. Oh and I dropped it twice already, geezzz I have butter fingers!

Mark broke his Blackberry :( So he got a new Blackberry Bold, and I am super jealous. Now I have to figure out a way to get Winston a new phone because Mark had to take his upgrade...boo

I have been doing awful with my exercise. Having the migraine last week really got me out of whack, and this week isn't starting any better. I had to use my lunch break to get my medicine rather than going to the gym. Then I had to pick my Mom up at the body shop this afternoon after she dropped her car off. So she has my car, and I didn't have time to run today...blah blah blah

And last but not least, I am going to strangle my husband. Who just told me at 10:30 that he has a softball game tomorrow and needed me to wash his uniform....REALLY!?!
He thought I knew...don't know why he thought that. So now I guess I won't be able to get to bed early because I have to make sure his uniform is washed and ready for his game tomorrow...UGH!

The life of a wife...some days I could scream. Love him :)

Have a great week everyone!!!!
